HiYa! Karate Pandas or Special Needs Program
HiYa Karate’s Panda Special Needs Program tailors martial arts training to meet the special needs of the individual student and is one of the only adaptative martial arts programs in the four-county area. You can find the schedule here or below.
We work with students who need more personalized attention and will succeed in a smaller class environment. These karate lessons are for children ages 5 to adults. We train individuals with down-syndrome, ADHD, cerebral palsy, autism, and other special needs and introduce them to the wonderful world of martial arts.
The panda is a symbol of gentleness and strength with a positive outlook on life.
The goals of our Panda Special Needs Program are to:
- Understand the importance of emotions
- Nurture calm determination and the ability to take time to reach your goals
- Learn the importance of private space and personal boundaries
- Integrate the polarized aspects of yourself
- Encourage heart-centered energy and nurturing ability
- Obtain knowledge of martial arts through kicks, punches and blocks
- Study traditional Tang Soo Do
HiYa Karate tailors 30-minute classes for these students and classes are offered twice a week.
- Wednesday 5:00 pm
- Saturday 10:00 am
