Our karate programs offer classes to children ages 3 and up, as well as adults. Our programs are designed to not only challenge students but to work on focus, respect, and setting them up for success. We offer two free trial classes to make sure our karate studio is the right fit for your student. You can check out the class schedule here.

Our seasoned instructors work with the students and adapt to how they best learn. Students are provided a safe environment to learn at their own pace. We have new students starting at, different ages, who are able to jump right in.

HiYa Karate is contract free when joining

We only ask for a 30-day notice if you decide to pause or stop your membership with our karate program. We have flexible class schedules to help parents with coordinating their time and multiple activities. We also have a multi-student and family discount.

For our Cobra (age 7-10) and Leopard Program (age 11+ and adults), our best system consists of the following:

• White, yellow, orange – beginners
• Green, blue, Purple – intermediate
• Brown, brown with stripe, red, red with stripe Poom – advanced
• Black belt

Our Tiger Cubs (3 and 4) and Dragons (5 and 6) karate programs, have a similar system, but their belts have a white or colored stripe, following the color ranks.

Our special needs Panda karate program is personalized to the individual student and adapted as needed.

At HiYa Karate

We test for a new belt approximately every three to four months. We always have a make-up date to provide extra time for students who need it and for scheduling purposes. Student eligibility for testing includes, but is not limited to class attendance, behavior and respect in class, school, and at home, and knowledge and performance of curriculum.

For the Tiger Cubs and Little Dragons, less emphasis is placed on performance of curriculum.

The curriculum includes forms or kata, one-steps, grabbing defense, and combinations for sparring. Board breaking is also part of testing for ages 5+.
